New Public Works Employee:

The Town of Bredenbury has hired Devin Schad as the new public works person. Devin has lived in Bredenbury for approximately 5 years. Welcome aboard Devin, we look forward to working with you.

Traffic:

There have been several reports of people going through stop signs. There are so many children in the community we do not want to see anyone get hurt. Please abide by the stop signs and speed limits within town.

If you see someone performing an illegal traffic action please contact the RCMP as they are the ones who enforce traffic laws in our community.

Compost Area:

Remember to take your branches, leaves, garden debris and grass clippings to the compost area. Also remember to bring back your bags with you. There can be no garbage left at that area or we will have to close it down. The area will be monitored with cameras.

Pictures for street signs:

Have you noticed the metal signs hanging from the poles on Third Street?  There are two at the corner of Third and Kensington (Centennial logos), and two at the corner of Third and Railway (the old CPR station and Elevator).  The Town has plans to put up a few more.

The metal signs are ready, but we are looking for photographs of historical buildings from Bredenbury’s past, such as the old school, the CPR roundhouse, the old Legion Hall, the CPR pumping station in Cutarm Creek, the race track that was located where the present golf course is, the railway water tower, etc.

The pictures should be as clear and close up as possible, and contain very little background; in other words, just the actual building or site.  If you have pictures that might be suitable, please contact Kim at the Town Office.

Clean Up:

Many residents have been cleaning up their properties over the few days. Please continue to clean up your properties; it makes the town look so inviting.

Gym:

Many residents have expressed an interest in having a gym in our community. Right now we are working on getting a grant so that we can purchase some exercise equipment and open a membership gym. We plan on having it located in the basement of the town office with a card lock system.

If we can get some financial support we hope to have it open by the fall. If you are interested in a gym, please make sure to call the office so we can justify opening one.

Extra Garbage:

The last day to use Churchbridge Landfill will be May 31, 2015. Please use up your coupons.

The Town of Bredenbury is bringing in a large locked garbage container the first week in May. If you have extra garbage or items you wish to get rid of then call the town office at 306-898-2055 to be placed on a schedule for pickup. If office is closed, then leave a message with your name, your address, your item, the date and time preferred and your phone number. You can also schedule your pick up by sending an email to bredenbury@sasktel.net.  The fee for pickup will be $10 per loader bucket. Absolutely no household garbage allowed. It can be things like, old fridge, old couch, lumber, etc.

This will be offered for approximately two weeks. Some weekend pickups will also be available. The town employees will come to your property and get your extra garbage. You must be there to load the garbage.

The garbage bin will not be accessible for residents, only town employees will be able to dispose of garbage into the bin and it will be monitored with a camera.

We hope that everyone will be able to get rid of their access debris at this time with this extra service. The garbage fees can be paid at the town office by cash, cheque, debit, mastercard, visa or online using your utility account. Unpaid garbage fees will be placed onto taxes.

In the future we will continue this service but on a smaller scale, with a smaller bin and higher costs. Ottenbreit will also have bins for rent when you are doing large renovation projects. You can call them at 306-783-6995 to arrange for that service.

Bylaws:

Enclosed are a few bylaws that residents may want to review now that spring is upon us. They include ATV Bylaw; Fire Bylaw, Noise Bylaw, and Abatement of Nuisances Bylaw.
