NEWSLETTER JANUARY 2015

Office Hours:

Regular hours are Mondays and Thursdays 8:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday and Fridays 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. Closed over the lunch hour.

The office will be closed January 30, February 4, and February 12, 2015.

PDAP:

PDAP has sent our first payment in the amount of $83,000. So far they have denied $10,000 worth of our submitted invoices; those invoices we expected to be denied because they were installation of culverts that never existed prior. PDAP only reimburses money to put things back in same condition.

The Engineer report suggests that our total loss was $193,882. We won’t know how much we actually will regain back until all invoice are submitted, the process if very time consuming for both parties. Our deductible was 3,869.94.

Golf Course:

Cougar Games:

The next Cougar Home games will be played in Bredenbury on Friday, January 30, 2015 at 8:00 p.m.

Utility Bills:

The utility bills went out with a reading for the first time in a long time. There were 45 household that used over their allotted 41 cubic meters.

There were approximately 10 meters that did not read, these meters will be checked individually and replaced if required. If you utility bill has an “A” it is an Actual read if it has an “E” it is an estimate. The process overall went pretty good.

It is a good practice to write down your own meter reading on the calendar every week or two then you are aware of how much you are using. All you have to do is shine a flashlight on your meter.

Some people were surprised about the overage, but the amount you pay for being over really is insignificant. 1 cubic meter is equal to 264 gallons or 1000 liters and that costs you 65 cents. What can you buy for 65 cents?

Snow Removal:

With winter upon us please remember to avoid leaving parked vehicles on the streets when it snows. The grader is unable to do a good job of cleaning the streets when there are obstacles.

This also includes recycling and garbage carts, please return them to your home as soon as possible after pickup. Please also remember our bylaw which states that all obstacles such as rocks and rebar must be 15 feet back from pavement so the streets can be plowed wide.

Garbage Pickup and Recycling:

Remember garbage pickup schedule is the same for 2015. The recycling schedule has been changed to once a month. Please refer to your calendar. If you have excess recycling that cannot fit into your cart, please call the office at 306-898-2055 and we can arrange for you to use a municipal bin. The calendar is also on our website and on facebook.
