This is a friendly reminder that the compost area in Bredenbury is only for branches, trees, garden material, leaves. Over the summer employees have picked out lumber, pallets, garbage bags – these are not allowed at the compost area.
If environment inspects our compost area and there is garbage there, we will be subject to a financial penalty and risk having to close the area down.
Thanks for your immediate cooperation.
The water meters were tested on September 12, 2014. Unfortunately there are 45 water meters that did not register. We believe that some of these meters were possibly damaged with the flood.
In the future you will be contacted to see if your water meter was submerged in water/sewer. You may contact the town office and leave a message if you know for sure that your meter was submerged, which will save us time.
Damaged water meters will be replaced through PDAP but it will take time to replace them all.
If you have not installed a water meter at all, there will be a fine penalty of $50 issued every month that it continues to be not installed.
Rink Grand Re-Opening:
The Town of Bredenbury will be hosting a Grand Re-Opening of the Arena on Saturday, December 6, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m. There will be free hamburgers, hotdogs, coffee, hot chocolate and dessert.
There also will be a special announcement and presentation with free family skating. Watch posters and newsletters for more updates.
We want everyone to attend this event, including residents of Bredenbury and surrounding rural municipalities.
Attached is the 2014 Ottenbreit garbage and recycling calendar. The small recycle carts will start pickup on October 1, 2014 and the large business recycle carts will start pickup on October 8, 2014.
Most of the large recycle bins have been delivered, it is expected that the small carts will be delivered later this week.
Pickup for both small recycle carts and large recycle carts will be every two weeks. You may throw in all recyclables straight into the cart, no separating is required.
The Town of Bredenbury is still looking at getting a large locked garbage bin from Ottenbreit and setting up a user pay system to throw away large items, or excess garbage. This bin will not likely be implemented until Spring 2015, as Churchbridge landfill is remaining open until then.
Churchbridge Landfill costs are $10 per ticket and are available at Bredenbury Town Office, Churchbridge Town Office, and Churchbridge Co-op.
Churchbridge Landfill Hours:
Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday 1:00 p.m. – 4:30 p.m.
