The Curling Fun Spiel meeting was a success. We will be having our fundraising event again for the rink. The Fun Spiel will start on Friday, April 3 at 5 p.m. and will go all day on Saturday, April 4. There will be a maximum of 24 teams and we will put in 3 sheets of ice. We have two sets of rocks and Calder Rec Board has graciously allowed us to borrow a set from them again.

To register your team contact Twila Brears at 306-898-2350 by March 15, 2020. First come first served. There will be a waiting list and a spare list as well if you don’t have a team but would like to try out curling.

The kitchen will be open both Friday and Saturday. Saturday morning the Fire Department will serve a pancake breakfast 8 a.m.-10. Saturday evening we again will offer perogies and sausage supper. Beer gardens will be available Friday night and Saturday.

Saturday during the day there will be a few kids games in the basement as well as movies playing. We intend to also have an area where kids can skate while curling is on. No one will be allowed on the ice or bleachers except curlers and skaters. Helmets are mandatory, and no sticks.

Volunteers will be needed to work bar shifts, and some kitchen workers. Churchbridge Credit Union volunteers have graciously volunteered for kitchen shifts for most of Saturday.

At the event there will be 50-50 tickets sold and there will be a raffle liquor prize basket. If you are willing to donate a bottle of liquor or anything else that would go with a liquor basket please drop it off at the Town office by March 20. All proceeds go to the rink.
