Many of you noticed that the grader hasn’t been around; that is because the motor went on it. The Town of Bredenbury is getting the motor rebuilt. Thanks to everyone who helped us out clearing snow, it was greatly appreciated.

With snow melt hopefully around the corner, the town will do its best to move and push snow as it melts. If you see a problem area where water is not draining away and flooding streets or houses please report the problem to the office immediately so that we can get the flood water moving. If the office is closed leave a voice mail or send an email, they get checked frequently.
Business Licenses:
If you have a door to door salesperson knocking on your door; ask to see a copy of their business license from the Town of Bredenbury (this will look like a Town of Bredenbury Receipt just like a water or tax receipt). Any door to door salesperson need a license; when they purchase their license the town takes a copy of their driver’s license to send to RCMP if required.
All contractors who do not live in Bredenbury also need a business license. The license is $40 per year. Ask your contractors if they have their license and make sure they are not charging you for the license if they do not.
If you run a business in town and pay taxes to the town you do not require a business license.
Taxes will be mailed out once the Government of Saskatchewan announces the School Division Mill Rate. If you pay your taxes before July 31, 2018 you receive a 5% municipal portion discount. All taxes must be paid before December 31 of each year.
Council has decided on a modest tax increase for the 2018 year. The mill rate went from 4 mills to 4.5 mills and the base tax increased by $50. This extra income is required just to do keep up with rising costs.
