As per government policy; the registered mail has been sent out for any outstanding utility accounts for the year; any unpaid arrears will be added to taxes January 1, 2018.
Please ensure that you pay your taxes before December 31, 2017 to avoid a 10% penalty which is added January 1, 2018. Make payments online, by phone with credit card, cheque, cash, e-transfer. Call the office for more details.
Please make sure your house has a visible house number; in recent emergency events it was very difficult for emergency workers to find a house without a house number. Visible house numbers can save lives.
The Town of Bredenbury is also working hard to ensure that municipal buildings also get numbers on them.
You can now purchase your 2018 pet license. The cost to register a dog is $10 and a cat is $5.
Failure to register a pet can endanger him or her; any animal we find at large without proper identification we hold for 3 days then find a new location for them. The identification tags allow us to call the owner right away.
Please note that we have strict rules on pets, fines range from $100-$1000. For a copy of the bylaw please look at our website at www.townofbredenbury. ca or request a copy by email to Bredenbury@sasktel.net.
Wildland Fire Truck:
The Bredenbury Fire Department will be purchasing a used half ton truck to turn into a wildland fire truck. They already purchased the pumping equipment for the truck. This new wildland fire truck will allow the fire department to be able to fight grass fires more safely and efficiently.
The gracious yearly donations from Spy Hill Power helped with this purchase. As well the large contribution given this year by the RM of Saltcoats made this possible.
Any remaining costs to the truck will be paid by Town of Bredenbury and Bredenbury Fire Department savings account.
All trucks and equipment are owned by Town of Bredenbury and Saltcoats RM. With the RM paying for half the costs to our fire department, it makes keeping a fire department in town affordable.
The Mayor, Council and Staff would like to wish each and every one of you a safe and happy holiday season!
