Bredenbury Arena startup was less than desired. It turned out that we were required to put in a new panel for the ice plant at a cost of approximately $8000. It seems to be working well now.
In addition we did some maintenance on ice plant, including changing out a seal to protect Freon from leaking again and installing hour meters on ice plant for approximate cost of $4000.
Public Skating will be held on Wednesday’s from 4:00-5:30 and Sundays from 1:00 p.m. - 3:00 p.m. Once again public skating will be free this year. Public Skating will be cancelled when there is a game or tournament on cancellations will be posted on Facebook and on the rink door.
The Town of Bredenbury and Bredenbury Tundra will be hosting a Free Hamburger and Drink Public Skating Event. Sunday, October 15 from 11 am - 2 pm Here you can meet the Tundra team, public skate, get a free burger and drink, buy your season tickets, buy your 50-50 and sign up to volunteer for the rink kitchen. Bredenbury has been selected to host the Zone 4 Sask. First tryouts for boys and girls for the Saskatchewan Winter Games. The tryouts will be December 1-3 in Bredenbury. We can expect 50-80 kids aged 14/15 trying out for the team. Volunteers will be needed to work the kitchen during this weekend. This is a great opportunity to bring extra people into our community and show off our amazing rink.
The schedules are not out yet for the Bredenbury Cougars or Bredenbury Tundra, we will send out a newsletter once we have those schedules.
There is a possibility of a Tundra game on Sunday, October 15 at 3:00 p.m. in Bredenbury, this potentially will be same day as free burger and drink; but it still has not been finalized. We will put out a poster if finalized. As well there will be a Tundra game on Sunday, October 22 at 2:00 p.m. Public Skating will be moved from 11-1 that day.
Thanks to all the amazing volunteers for putting in the ice and lines. We hope that we all have a fun, safe and financially productive year at the arena.

It was to great disappointment there was cement and rebar that was dumped at the compost area in Bredenbury. The Town of Bredenbury has since cleaned it up. Only compost material can be left at the compost area; nothing else. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the compost area being closed permanently.
There has been a report of fresh spray paint at the playground under the red roof on the fort. Please note vandalism will not be tolerated and the area is under video surveillance.
Please note water overages have been removed from all water bills this quarter. The water usage numbers were extremely high throughout town; and we are unable to determine if residents really used that much water or if it was a computer glitch. The usage number on your bill is not actually usage. This is a onetime manual removal as approved by Council.
