Free Garbage Week: It’s that time of the year again when yards get tidied up. This includes removal of all unlicensed vehicles from your property. Unused vehicles are unsightly and are a place for rodents to live. 
 
The compost area is open and under video surveillance. Only garden material leaves, grass clippings, tree branches are allowed there; remember to take your garbage bags home. 
 
If you need some extra garbage picked up please call the office, the cost is $20 per backhoe load; this cannot be household garbage. 
 
If you want to partake in free garbage pickup week June 5-9 call the town office 306-898-2055 immediately to schedule your day and time. This week only there is no charge to pickups. We will only pickup material that is suited for the bin.
 
The free week is an effort to get our community tip top shape for Canada Day event.
Canada Day: Canada Day 150th Birthday is scheduled for Saturday, June 24, 2017. A new schedule of events will be mailed out in separate mail out; as well as registration information for Golf Tournament held that day.
 
There has been an event created on Facebook; if you are on social media please say if you are going on there so we have an estimated number. The information is also on our website at www.townofbredenbury.ca
 
Supper tickets are now also available at town office or Pam at 898-2123. $20 Adults. 12 and under $10.Only 200 tickets sold. You must purchase advance supper tickets, tickets only on sale until June 15, 2017.
 
Thank you to the volunteers that have already graciously donated their time. You will be contacted by a committee member to confirm your time and place of volunteering. It’s still not too late to sign up to volunteer. Here are the following areas we still need people:
 
 8-11 canteen shift at school grounds for Movie  Bar workers from 8pm-2am  Disc golf 10am-3pm  Popcorn makers 7pm start approx.  Midnight lunch preparation and serving  Clean up committee
 
Call the office and we will add you to the list.
Bredenbury Golf Course: Memberships are now due. Family Rate $175. Single $125. Senior $100. Student $50. Daily $10. Coupon Book $50. Fees can be paid in the slot at the golf club or at the town office. At office cash, cheque, mastercard, visa and e-transfer are accepted.
 
Tournaments will be: June 24 - Open. July 29 - Night Golf. September 17 - Members. Cougar and Tundra Tournaments - TBD.
 
Men’s Golf is Monday nights at 6 pm. Ladies Golf is Tuesday Mornings and Wednesday Nights at 6 pm. Seniors Mixed is Thursday afternoon at 1 pm.
 
School Recreation Shed: If you would like to borrow a set of Frisbees, the horseshoes, a soccer ball, baseball bat, bases, badminton net, soft ball, basketball, etc. there are key holders for the storage shed at the school yard by the tennis court. 
 
You can go to one of the following addresses and sign out the key; please use the key for only a day or less; unless you have a large event you need it for. Please lock it up after. 
 
The area is under video surveillance.

Office Hours June: During summer hours the office will be closed more frequently because of holidays. The phone messages and email messages are checked frequently even on days off so please feel free to leave messages or emails. If it is an emergency please call the Mayor or a Council member, they will assign any required duties to town employees.
 
The office will be closed on: June 8, June 12 morning, June 20, June 28, June 29, July 3. There may be a few more days added last week of June. Remember office is always closed Fridays.
 
Taxes: Taxes have been mailed out for 2017. Remember everyone’s taxes changed because of new assessments, it is impossible to calculate a general percentage increase because of the dramatic changes to assessments. To get a 5% discount on municipal portion, pay taxes before July 31. All taxes must be paid by Dec. 31.
