The commercial water will be increased to $105 for water and $105 for sewer per quarter. This is an increase of $12.

There has not been a raise in water & sewer rates for several years. The increase was part of our long term Capital Strategy.

Curb Stops:

Do you know where your curb stop is? If not and you would like to know please call the town office and get on a list, we will go around on a slow day and try to find them and test them.

School Yard Recreation:

The ball diamond is complete. The horseshoe pit has been installed. Revamped basketball hoops have been installed. Soccer nets have been installed. The Frisbee Golf is also installed.

Unfortunately the tennis court continues to have active roots and we were unable to pave it this year, please feel free to use the tennis court how it is for now; it will be closed temporarily once we start removing broken pavement. Please play safe and at your own risk.

Spray Park:

With the very nice weather we are having this year; we can say that the spray park is a huge hit; it is busy every day.

Just a reminder to parents to talk to their children about not pushing the spray park water button, unless they are using it.

The spray park may be closed for a few days; the current button at times does not shut water off properly; a new button is being shipped through warranty.

Also there has been inquiries about hosting birthday parties at the spray park, feel free to do so. There is a garbage can in the vicinity so make sure you clean up area after.

There has been a donation box set up at the spray park; any and all donations would be greatly appreciated. If anyone wants to give a larger donation, they can do so at the town office and a taxable receipt will be issued. Donations will go towards installing an outdoor change room/bathroom at the park.

Water Advisory:

The recent water advisory issued by the Ministry of Health was rescinded. The original advisory was issued because sample came back with high E.coli and high bacteria.

This test most likely was a false positive or a mix up at the lab because inadequate labelling. There was enough chlorine present in the water and the present of E.coli in chlorinated water is unheard of. We have sent in 9 more tests since this time and they all were good.

If an advisory is issued for any reason, please follow the advisory by boiling the water; presence of e-coli or bacteria can make people very sick or die. Boiling water for one minute kills E.coli and bacteria.

Exercising:

Would anyone be interested in a training workshop.t These workshops will be specifically designed for people who want to get into the gym but do not know how to workout in a safe and effective way.

Workshops will be on Saturday mornings for 6 weeks and will cover the following topics:

  •

Developing a workout plan & routine-you will learn what is the best kind of plan for YOU and the schedule you have and feel confident about getting to the gym.

There would be a charge for this workshop.

Also in the fall we have received a grant to host a free exercise program for 6 weeks, it likely would also be a Saturday. Participation will be mandatory if you sign up; because we need enough numbers. It is planned to be a family event where all ages can attend and exercise.

If you are interested in either of these events in the fall please call the town office and get on a sign up list.
