Happy New Year!
The office hours are Monday to Thursday 8:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. Closed Fridays.
The office will not open until 1:00 p.m. on January 7, 2016.
With winter upon us, this is a friendly reminder for residents to keep vehicles and other items off the sides of the streets during a snow fall. Employees will be out early clearing snow during a heavy snowfall event and you don’t want to have your vehicle plowed in.
Garbage & Recycling:
Starting in January, 2016 the new rate for extra garbage pickup at your house will be $20 per backhoe load. For example if you have an old couch you want to throw out it will now cost you $20.
Attached is a list of allowable and non-allowable items for your recycle bin. Please keep a copy for your records. If anyone forgot to save their new Ottenbreit calendar there is more at the town office, it is also on the website at www.townofbredenbury.ca and facebook.
CPR garbage containers are private; people have been dumping their garbage into these containers. CPR has their own separate contract with Ottenbreit and it is not under the town’s contract.
There should be no dumping of garbage into any of the larger bins that are situated around town; they are only for the names associated with them.
Now is the time to join the gym. Yearly membership is $275, monthly membership is $30. The gym is accessible 24 hours a day with a key fob. Members must be 16 or older. Children 12-15 can pay a drop in fee of $5 but must attend with an adult gym member.
Since it is a new year, why not set up your utility account on automatic withdrawal.
Please note that Utility Bills are due by the end of the first month they are issued, or interest is automatically applied by the computer system.
The next bills will be mailed out immediately. They will include meter reads.
Public Skating is Wednesdays from 3:00-6:00, Saturday and Sundays from 1-4 p.m. It will be cancelled occasionally due to tournaments and weather. Watch Facebook for cancellations.
The Cougars are playing in town on January 16 - 3:00 p.m. and January 29 - 8:00 p.m.
Remember to come in and register your pet for 2016. The cost is $10 for a dog and $5 for a cat.
Councillor Procedure Bylaw:
The Town Council is preparing for a third read of Bylaw 369 Council Procedure Bylaw, Employee Code of Conduct Policy, and Councillor Public Disclosure Statement.
The final reading will occur at next Regular Meeting on Tuesday, February 2, 2016. This new bylaw was mandated by the Government of Saskatchewan and applies to all urban and rural municipalities.
If you would like to read the Bylaw please stop by the town office during office hours before the next meeting.
